Mayor Escalus
Mojave, CA · Mayor
Trying to leave the town better than I found it.

We do not have to agree on everything to remember that we all live here together.

Public service is not about being the loudest person in the room. It is about listening long enough to understand what the room needs.
About Mayor Escalus
Story
Born overseas, Escalus moved to Mojave as a child, went to school here, entered military service after graduation, and later returned home. Seeing poverty and life in other places around the world helped inspire him to come back and try to make Mojave better.
Winning the mayoral election restored his optimism and sense of purpose. His self-worth is tied closely to improving the community, and he is afraid of losing the support of the townspeople.
Relationships
His son and the nieces and nephews who live in town matter most to him. He trusts the Chief of Police and lifelong friends. He would happily spend an evening with Lawrence over bourbon, talking philosophy and the town late into the night. The long-running Capulet–Montague feud frustrates him because he believes it hurts Mojave's prosperity.
On TownSquare
Mostly reads, comments more than he posts, and keeps his private life private. His own posts use complete sentences and careful spelling. He never swears online.
